LEVI JOHNSTON

OK - SO...here he is, the father of Sarah Palins daughters child. A nice lookin kid who decided to pose for Playgirl. There was talk that he was going to go the full monty but alas...he did not. The first set of pictures was posted on Playgirl.com but of course are all over the internet and easily accessible by just doing a google search. He looks OK in the pictures but word on the street was that he was in the gym like crazy prepping for this shoot. He has a nice body but it does not look like he was living in the gym unless he was an out of shape disaster which he was not - you can see that by looking at the pictures he did shirtless with his child. He actually has a cracker ass. What do you think of all of this mess? Is Kathy Griffins boy toy going to fizzle away or will this push him towards something else? Will we see a new reality series about his life and trying to find love while shooting deer? I wonder....

I remember back when I was in high school how much I loved this album and movie. I had the cardboard standee from the video store I worked at. I listened to the album non stop and became a Prince fanatic - therefore being into all his entourage like The Time, Sheila E, Vanity6, Appolonia 6, Sheena Easton etc....Well, I have a free package from DIRECTV that is 6 High Def channels that show all different things and one is all movie of course and I was lucky enough to DVR this film in High Def. It looks good and it made me think back to when I used to sing Erotic City out my bedroom window for all the neighborhood to hear and my mother yelled at me to stop and that it was inappropriate. It was bad - "I just want your creamy thighs. We can funk until the dawn, making love till cherry's gone" I mean really!

DOG CHAT
video

Thursday, November 19, 2009

It is finally here.

How funny - It was about this time last year that I read this novel while in China and here I am a year later, ready to go back to China and REALLY ready to see this movie - when will I get to see it? I need to figure that out FAST!

KRIS ALLEN

YES - I was a fan of him from the first time I saw him on American Idol. For obvious reasons at first but then I really started to enjoy him as an artist and person. He was charming, never tried to hard, just did what he does well. I bought his Idol CD from ITunes after the show and I bought his first self titled CD the other day. I listened to it on the way home. I like the first 2 songs the best and then I was daydreaming for a lot of my drive so I only half listened. I liked what I heard but what was not on the CD and what I was looking for were easy songs, acoustic songs. I guess whoever produced his CD wanted to try and get top 40 hits off of it but that isn't who Kris Allen is or what his charm was. He was best when it was him and his guitar or him and a piano. I hope we see more of that Kris in the future.

It's time to start rehearsals for...

We start this week for the tour that is going to open in Shanghai, China. Exciting. Many friends are going to be a part of this experience. It should prove to be pretty cool.

Tis almost the season

Yes, I went to the movies, took my 3D glasses that I kept, bought a ticket to The Box, saved $3.00 and went to see A Christmas Carol in digital 3D. Here are my thoughts.
It was OK.
At times it was nice to look at but this type of Polar Express animation doesn't thrill me. The men look OK but for some reason, the women look odd and almost lifeless. For the film itself.... I know there have been a million Christmas Carol films made so they tried to be different by infusing different touches in but there were too many "chase scenes" or flying thru the town for me. I would have liked it better had they stuck to the story and done it well - that is all that needs to be done. Everything doesnt need someones new idea and special additions - just do it well. For my money I prefer this version of A Christmas Carol (see below)

SHOW TIME
__________________
ANNIE

So - after many weeks and many webisodes of The Road To Hannigan, ANNIE opened to great success - crowds enjoyed the show and it all came together. Jess Ball had to step into a lead role for opening night because one of the actors was sick and she did a wonderful job which I think helped push the show over the top on opening. When an understudy goes on with short notice, it always kicks up a show a bit. I did have to tell her to get it together but...it will be a show that audiences will enjoy. Light hearted fluff for the holidays. I have to say that after watching the show, I think Tina was miscast. She should have been cast as ANNIE because the script says that "Annie is a drunk. A drunk and a liar!" I guess everyone missed that.

Russell and Janines dog, Belle, plays Sandy in the show and is delightful. A very pretty dog and Russell did a great job of training her for the show and keeping his patience when all the dumbasses would run up to the dog and distract her while he was trying to keep her focused. The dog also barks at him sometimes which works because he plays the cop who wants to take the dog to the pound and tells all Annies Hooverville friends "clear out ya bums" - it makes me laugh.
Also - the choreography is so amazing and revelatory. I smell a nomination...but is it a Helen Keller or Helen Hayes???

AIDA

I also got to the closing of AIDA at Toby's in Baltimore and I am glad I did. Let me start by saying that I do not think it is a wonderful show but I thought the production was good - anchored by a strong AIDA. It was nice to see a new performer who was at ease, and commanded your attention by just standing still and being honest. She was quite a delight.
Other strong performances were turned in by David Jennings as Radames - I have known David for many years and he really has become a good talent with a nice voice and Jamie Eacker who played Amneris (the buffet featured Baked Tilapia Amneris - just sayin)Her strongest moment was also when she stood center stage and sang "I know the truth", again very nice to not see it overdone. Darren played Radames leather queen father who I think had tendencies - and Darren is ...well, always a delight. Congratulations Darren!

Tina was featured as a Nubian slave - wow, it was her second best performance next to Dreamgirls when she was upstage, behind a scrim, in darkness!
Hmmmm. This is a picture of Tina in the fashion show. When she twirled her dress around a pigeon fell out of the rafters and onto our table. So, I guess the show wasn't green and good for the environment.

In all seriousness - well, I was serious. A pigeon.
I stayed after a bit for their closing party - free pizza, hello.
Here is my video of the evening out...

Well - this week starts FAME China tour. I think that since last year, Blogger has been blocked in China along with facebook, youtube etc...so I am sad because when I go there for most of December, I won't be able to keep you posted - maybe someone here can post for me. I will email pictures and letters that can be cut and pasted - hmm. I am brilliant!

ROCK OF AGES

So, we got great house seats to see Rock of Ages on Monday evening and it was a good time. Loud, brassy, cheesy and fun. Lots of great 80's "rock" tunes and just a sense of fun. I am sure this is bringing a totally new kind of audience to see a Broadway show. The story is about a young guy and girl going after their dreams and thru success and failure and many bumps along the way find a new dream. Constantine from American Idol was the lead and he sure can sing and was very easy and charming in his role.

I enjoyed the character of Stacee Jaxx played by James Carpinello - a very handsome guy with a great body and he can sing as well! It was a smart choice to keep him shirtless for over 50% of the show. The first shot is him from the show and the one with the money is from a Men of Rock of Ages calendar - what a body and good teeth!

Speaking of bodies - there was an ensemble girl named Katherine Tokarz ( I think) who was so sexy, I couldn't stop looking at her either - what a body on this girl. At one point the girls were slutting around and she has a red g-string on a short, short skirt so her ass was out the whole time and even I was looking at her and thinking "damn." At intermission, I pointed her out on a poster out front and some guy standing near me said "yeah, she is off the hook."

Sitting a row behind me was Pasha from a past season of So You Think You Can Dance" - who was very attractive in person and also there was Christopher Gorham who was Ugly Bettys accountant boyfriend and was recently on Harpers Island. So funny, I saw him in LA when I was there and I saw him in NYC. I need a new celebrity to see often.
